standing on a shadow's lace

Inside Out

I like new coffee
hot in the pot
pearls on my skin
knot after knot
adjectives, verbs
and solid nouns
words spoken, written
tickled by their sound
to dress up in lace
feel at home in my jeans
Mississippi, New Orleans
Memphis and in betweens
shirts ironed crisp
made of white cotton
wrinkles on my face
laughing how gotten
gardening for shells
from a tide in ebb
an absolutely simple life
complexity of a spider web

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

I liked this, isn't it funny how you can take a thought and it just runs thru your mind and twist it around and put into poetic verse. You and I have both been on these pages of blue for quite awhile and I've aged and slowed way down and you are still so pretty and look like a teen?

You have got a lot of rhymes going there... running with the muse, I would surmise. Excellent.
