Today's a day for laughter,
Cackle right out loud,
Make a person smile today,
Captivate a crowd.

They may look at you
And think you are quite odd,
May tell you 'bout comedians
Out looking for a job.

Make some faces-tell some jokes,
Be a clown for just one day,
You might cheer up a sad someone
Make some worries go away.

Sadly life won't always flow
Like the melody of song,
Admire the one that can still laugh,
When everything goes wrong.

"Smiles that are worth
more than anything on earth
Are the smiles that shine thru tears.."

Everyday is like that one for me!  Good advise there Toerag.  Seriously though, if you start your day with an affirmation of positivity it will always be a great day!

Sing in the rain on streets, wear two different socks because you can, and always remember to smile at least to 4 people that obviously could use it, even an old grouch!     Oh, and good one is to start "Row,row, row your boat" in elevators that go above floor number 6.

Such great advice.  My hubby will have a procedure done on Wednesday, then they'll schedule his aortic valve replacement surgery.
I'll print this out an keep it in my purse for days that look like real bummers.

Thanks.

God bless,
  Rae

There is no doubt that you have created your fair share of smiles. Peace be to you my friend.

Sometimes it's hard to smile yourself much less make others. Knowing now and going thru what some of our passed poets have gone thru with illness, cancer and such, Like Lady Chip, Whitedove, Sy and Marge and others, it takes away some of the pain I have to try to make others smile now and then. Thank you for the kind replies

I always come to this website to be inspired and to laugh. Thank you to you both, Toerag and Balladeer, for the laughter.
When you are sick, it is easy to fake the happy face but you make my insides truly warm and at peace.

Toe,

There have been days when I have come on here just so damn tired and somewhat discouraged.  Your poetry has never failed to bring me a smile.  Not once.  Thank you.

Good - and in my case, very timely -- advice, Toerag.

Thanks for the smile.

Toe, good philosophy, for each smile you give away - there will always be two that come back to you. See?
