Limping
but I'm walking,
little knives of pain could bring a rain of tears
if I let them.
What good to explain simple dregs from the past
if nothing else is learned;
I know life doesn't last and pain at least reminds me I'm alive;
what is all this jive talk about being satisfied?
I cross paths with women now through acts of desperation,
their desperation never mine;
I seem to have left my yearning in another century,
another time.
Don't you love time;
I mean really don't you just love it?
It's like hot sauce on home fries and sunny sides,
makes it all worth doing,
without it life would be a dull sop for tears.

Walking
but I'm limping too
and time is not a friend
of mine:
The daze consults
the calendar
The haze is thumbtax:
"There y'are..."

pressed into a map of that--

it's what I was chosen to do.

It' great to read you, love.

Yes, I just love time and the little knives of pain. Kind of like a horror movie where you're on the edge of your seat but you're afraid to see what is going to happen next.

Yep, the days are long and the years so short. Doing time, biding your time, all are the time of your life. I don't even keep time anymore, I want a watch that just says "NOW"....

This was a piece I could relate to so well, desperation, sometimes terrible pain, and the time well spent reading this.

Time is a trickster
distance is its brother

Yes it is no good to dig up dregs from the past if nothing is learned.  Good use of metaphor.
