He's letting me go...
Said he didn't want
to hold me back
from my gray places
He doesn't understand
the passions that
make me write
for hours
when they ignite
He says he loves me so
But it would seem
the best of me
he can't see
There is just
too much of my gray
getting in his black and white way

gray has tremendous symbolism for some men
reminders
of something not welcome
and a spot where they can't turn back from.
My heart goes out to you, Eusta B.

He can't see all the joy and pleasure in all the gray.
Blind and foolish man.
Love this.

I'm goying gray,
and sometimes imagine things I've missed along the way.
Like mirrage, kids, all that stuff.
I tell myself that's not important,
but, sometimes, I wonder if the world is passing me?

Yo dear EBM,

I have a lot of trouble with gray.  Gray is not clear, and everything rather blends in.

I love the color metaphors in this poem.Gray almost becomes personified. And the ending is great! I think all poets are a bit "gray" don't you? If they were black and white, they would be engineers

gray isn't a bad place to be if it's your place.

EBM, you always have a way of connecting your emotions with your words...A captivating read that ended like a door being shut too loudly on a quiet evening.ww

Of all your poems this one connected with me.  Everything is not black and white but rather gray.

Somehow I have always hated the phrase "Anything gray is black". Gray is life. Salt and pepper is the spice.

Hello Eusta, I love the nuances of the poem, colored nuances that say to me that white and black don't exist, that all is gray and only those who share van see that...This poem talked to me artfully and genuinely....
