The Madness

In the nightmare of some madness
comes a moment of the mind
where colors fade, stones dissolve,
events compact in Time

to weigh upon the pumping heart’s plunge before a sin
whose gravity steals the rational mind’s breath then sucks you in.
And there you stand, trembling without motion at the brink,
morality pushing hard against the pull of what you think.

Up from the chaos crashing comes an echo on the wing
to rescue sounds of sanity so confused by wrecks of things.
‘Tho faint and brief its life to live, which vibes upon a word,
shouts "Thunder" in the lightning strike that stills the hovering bird.

And in that blink, that flash of blind, come colors ‘til they fade
where stones dissolve, events outstretch to march a mad parade
along a road of rubble where the memory has a lane
that leads to where the real is just one step over into the sane.

Fabulous verse, Namyh~

In the blink of an eye, we go from 0 to 60, and hold on for dear life.

A really good poem that merits several reads. A fine portrait of mind on the brink... Well done.

Blues Serenade – Going from 0 to 60 can become an exhilarating force. But going from 60 to 0, that’s usually when the madness shows up. Thanks Lori for holding on for dear life and for your enjoyment. Namyh

BC – If madness is sometimes deep within the mind, it’s there like a force waiting for eruption as we keep trying to repress it into extinction. Maddening isn’t it? Glad you enjoyed. Thanks Bill. Namyh
