I hate it

History...

The old wars
The wounds...

Camoflaged
Baggage...

Dodging bullets
Landmines...

The snipered
Cheap shots...

And rations
of eggshells...

History...

I hate it

You have caused me to check out your work further, miss, and here I find a treasure, without even a reply. Amazing how you knew so much about my last marriage!

ration of eggshells......dynamite!

I am honored you took the time to check out my work.  About this particular piece...describes a marriage (or 2) of mine.

Thanks for bringing this one back up 'Deer.... I must have missed it somewhere along the line.

EBM...I have always enjoyed the study of history, but we all have some we would rather not relive. Most of what I read I wouldn't want to relive when it comes ot history...but I do so respect and admire what people have struggled through.

biggest question for me was what have we learned from all the eggshell rations and sniping.

Can't change the  sniper but we can learn to wear armor. As far as the art of walking on eggshells, we learn to say to hell with it and dance on them instead.

Thanks Earl that really makes me feel good considering nobody read it/commented when it was first posted.  I am amazed how it has been "discovered". ebm

This, "And rations / of eggshells..." floored me, for eggshells, no matter where you walk you find them and crush them, History. I'm not a great fan of it either, but it has a way of clinging, huh?

Its discouraging when we realize that no one has really learned from history. Enjoyed this.
