The lips of my
sole
were chapped,
as I ambled down the road
with one shoe
toward you
my foot kissing
the ground
as it gnawed me
with thorny
teeth
and thistles
‘fore the moment,
of first
eyebreak.

A pack of whiffs
leaped out
from behind a star
and howled
through the sky
pouncing
on the prairie
leaving frost bites
on the ears of
bison
and a toad
mired,
to a frozen
pond.

The trees outside,
they clapped
at the concert of the current,
a tide of air,
this river of sodden breeze that
wets the bush
engaged
to a root
and lays down
for rest,
of the
woodwinds
blown
by the breath of
flurry
as soft moss
is seeded with
spore thicket
of splay
and horizon
as vines
and briar
fight over
fancies
of fern, and
flora.

Naked,
she rode the horse,
a night mare with
no saddle
bucking
the mist of the
sky
up and down,
fingers woven
in the mane land
of my dreams,
spurs digging,
muscles contracting,
reining me in
as the
bridal bit
into the spasm
of my stride
both of us
in the
throes
of slide
tumbling.
to the kneel
of your
destiny
to the bestowal
of my
endowment
in you
as we fell from
adornement
wrapped in lining
soft
and silver
tearing
a hole
in the ceiling
of
never
upon a time,
as heaven drained
into the blue,
of your eyes.

So many beautiful lines, your choice of words is uncanny,
your visuals are absolutely gorgeous, your sentiment so cared for.

I don't need to highlight my favorite part, because you manage to do that so beautifully.

Every word floats down the page, makes me want to catch them and hold them close.

Richy....Rich imagery captured here by your poetic heart...and this:

"tearing
a hole
in the ceiling
of
never
upon a time,"

Yep, I think I know that place in my own some how way.

First of all Bluesy, big hugs..... ........ .. .... I'll let you know when I'm done............... ..  .... .. .....  . Okay, I think that will hold me over for a while )

I was just thinking recently how lucky we are to have even one person let alone more then that, who put so much meaning into the thoughts we have, as well as the dreams we dream, and, into the words, that we give life too.

Thank you dear friend, for being you.

Oh Martie... your words brought some of the rain from the sky into my eyes...

I wouldn't wish for anyone to know that feeling, most especially, you.

That being said, if someone was going to have any company in that woeful tale, who wouldn't want it to be you... I know I would, without even blinking.

I loved the begining, it just sucked me in to read all the way down.  Usually I skip over very long poems unless they capture me right away and yours always delivers! Enjoyed!!!
