empathizing, identifying and feeling
thoughts ranging beyond reality
sympathizing, expressing, and knowing
notions roaming outside actuality

fibers of essence in existence
yearn for seedlings of occurrence
heartstrings of ability
weather outside disparity

moccasins worn belong to another
and sympathy stirs a symphony
of musical notes in supernal meter
as angel chorales whisper a melody

"befriend the one who has no friend
be a friend to the one who approaches the end.
comfort your soul bearing sorrows of someone
understand the race another is called to run

and empathize,
               sympathize,
                                                ...and feel"

This is lovely, Steaven, on so many levels.  Paradoxically, in doing something completely altruistic, the comfort and solace comes back to you a thousandfold.  The pain of feeling is also outweighed a thousandfold by the joy thereof.

very lovely, indeed...the ending drove your point home and made for a very powerful delivery...good clean writing, Steaven

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

"befriend the one who has no friend..." this was what we were discussing today in school.

Steaven I really like this alot

    "moccasins worn belong to another"

That was the clincher for me, I'm a strong believer in putting yourself in the other person's place.

Owl, thank you for stopping by and commenting...you are so right with your observations.  I knew a gentleman who (when he did counseling) often prescribed baking cookies for others when people told him that they were sad.  Often the 'patient' would get so caught up in helping someone else that their problems 'magically' disappeared.   Thank you for your kind remarks.

Faith, as you well know...endings are important.  Thank you for considering this one to have been on point.

Ms M, we who teach must stick together (where do you teach and what grade level do you teach?)  I teach Junior & Senior High (Bible classes at a Christian high school here in town.)

Lori, good...so glad it did for you...that was my self-correcting feature lest I had gone off course in the write...thank you for noticing and responding kindly...it is appreciated

There is much here to feast on.

"befriend the one who has no friend
be a friend to the one who approaches the end."

What a wonderful thought, great going Steven!

regarding moccasins

the wearer selects the occasion of their commitments

the owner of the skin is committed eternally

I have always grinned the comment of not judging me until you walk a mile in my moccasins…and I wonder if the buffalo who owned the skin  would feel that way too, or would prefer to judge me barefoot.

just had to share that...as I enjoyed your pen here.

"and empathize,
               sympathize,
                                                ...and feel""

I don't know what it was about this particular bit that got me, but something about it did. Very enjoyable
