Today

he stands

on principle,

and principle alone.

* * *

It's such a quibble of a day;

and such a stupid thing to own.

Admit it-- that you looked for this,

and felt some satisfaction in--

"No sin, so I will not atone

for not expressing

nothingness."

* * *

Oh Love, I do want you to know--

that I didn't cry today.

And no, you didn't lie today;

you stood alone

on principle.

And alone he will be, all night long.

I know someone I can send this to.

I love you.

Juju? That just happened to my daughter.

I tried to tell her it was a man-move--but she was not convinced.

I'll show her this later. Thank you.

Had almost as much fun reading the responses as I did the poem. Almost I said.

we shouldn't be surprised...

we insist on loving men who want to be alone.

There must be something in it for us, yes?

Or no... g'nite. Happy Valentine's Day.

Hey, you. This is not worthy of envy, or much less jealousy, especially from a dear Lady such as yourself.

These little threads of mine are mere triflings.

But there are things, certain moments I feel a certain ache of "I wish I knew how it felt to be able to do that..."

So to thank you in closing on this musical Valentine's thread, I'll share a link to an iconic piece of footage that...well, watch it and see.

I'll bet every woman has felt the kind of power, angst and passion that are conveyed in the following:

I'm just a silly little romantic girl, afterall. thank you for reading
