At castle gates he found his stead
And waited long - though some have said
That Camelot fell in disdain
And with it fell the knightly reign,
That Chivalry and Knight were dead.

He heeded not the silent dread,
But raised his sword and shield instead
And true his word would still remain
At castle gates.

Now years have passed – and it is read
That from the woods She softly tread
And with true love She wiped the stain
That long had marred the Knight’s domain -
The darkness lifted, they were wed
At castle gates.
