This kiss
And the next
And the next
And the next

Something
Has happened

White hair
In the mirror

Perhaps
Some doctor
Has told her
Beauty is not forever
Or a priest reciting
Dust to dust
Looked her in the eye

Through
The window
I can see
The sky is bruised

And again there are clouds
Heralding the coming
Of another layer of snow

Ah well
Whatever the reason
It’s good to be warm
On a night like this

Close the door
And come inside

Hah! Yes indeed, close that door. Great exercise in the realization of suddenly finding out that the years has left their mark. Nice work.
