Welcome to my life this day is blue
and I have learned a thing or two since last we met
though snow lays grounded in some places tease
the dappled sun in me feels blessed and pleased

Don’t try to freeze me till I break
I am most sure and filled with light
even in the night I dream of lavender wings
in joyful reminder that I no longer ache

She decided long ago to go
and I've mourned   my love to show
for many years I looked at February
as a month of fearful tragedy
now I see grief as a learning tool
one must pass through like any school
and I'll no longer show my love with sad
but rather in understanding love is glad

How about this
I let February be a place to see
a new flow within my stream
where loosened the rage of loss explores
the rippled lake of Evermore

not because I have forgotten Michelle
but choose to feel her love's warm spell
all the time

Martie, You have the beauty of Michele's smile. I have the loud and the sad of Joanne's joy and her tears. We are both beginnig to wear them well. Thank for this.

best to you, jo

Your love is a beautiful thing, and it enfolds me every time I read your memories of Michelle.  I feel so blessed that you share it here on these blue pages.
It seems you've come full circle and as you said, Michelle's love is a warm spell flowing in your stream.

What a glorious feeling.

Bless you, dear heart~

Tears of happiness for you and Michelle, Martie.  I am so glad you have opened the gate into a garden exploding with beautiful flowers.

Achingly beautiful.

Dearest Martie - I am sure it has been a long and painful journey to get to this point but getting there has, no doubt, made you even more of a beautiful person than you were before.  Michelle was/is a gift to us all here who have read your lovely and heartfelt poetry.

My best to you.

True loving memories of loved ones
make the warmest security blanket.
It is a blanket of yours and Michelle's knitting and one that I am sure you will
always cherish when your heart needs warming.
The missing
the longing
the love
They can never be replaced.

What can I possibly say that hasn't already been said, Martie? This month. How it comes around so soon, adding yet one more year to your sorrow. but I know, and can sense, in this revised "Hello February," that Michelle's presence has become enough for you now, and it is good.
