GUNSLINGER COWBOY POET

I never thought I'd be inspired by a Gunslinger
A cowboy poet from the west
Who provoked my thoughts and feelings to linger
Over the heartache he did divest

He'll saddle up a tale or two
of life upon the road
To ride till he's black and blue
Faithful to the Rodeo code

With a pen faster than his gun
He'd shoot off a few lines
A story of his wounded heart begun
Bleeding in perfect rhymes

His sacrifices he wore like leather
Old boots to hike down lonely trails
of broken dreams and ties that tether
Written on desert wind that wails

He'll lasso you with free verse and prose
as you bed down by the campfire light
Listening to all the legends he knows
As coyotes howl thru out the night

His secrets held close to his vest
of years on the circuit he did unfold
A romantic cowboy at his best
A Gunslinger with a heart of gold

Aww this is just great.  You conveyed so much and portrayed him
with just the right amount of spit shine. What a nice tribute
to pips one and only gunslinger.  Gotta love your inspiration!

Nice, nice, nice~

Wht can I say? I am speechless! What a wonderful thing to do, and so well crafted, too. Thanks, all, I just don't know what else to say. (gulp)
