'tis after midnight
the hermit rises to face the east
he prays now--some, more urgent,
entreaties find him
raising both arms
when his mother was still alive,
he would sit on a chair to pray
for he included another, extra, prayer
just for her and his legs would tire

there, now, he whispered, "Amen"
'tis now time for coffee
and time to communicate, first, with Ram

after the preliminaries, will he
request, first, a new haiku
or a pronouncement--perhaps a tanka
or a kyoka--fully aware, he may be told,
letter by letter, "Perhaps later"

then, he may approach Harmony

when both Ram and Harmony
are poemed-out, the hermit
utilizes his oft-used device:
asking whomever of his two
guiding spirits is next to be
neared, to reach into his mind--
referred between them as:
"to reach into his heart"--
and to pull a poem out that
may be resting there

either that, or a significant
memory takes hold and he asks
Ram or Harmony to reach in
and to pull out, in poetic form,
the particulars, for he knows
his heart sings clearer
in its unstrained, private domain

Just a great bit of writing, Spiros. We all have our well of wealth we refer to as our poems, some written, some to be written. It is, of course, the unwritten that we are concerned with here, and to be able to use entities to help coax these unwritten odes and ballads and tankas, etc., is divine help indeed.

Dear Spiros, I could feel the sacredness of this moment. Is there anything more gratifying and exciting than to explore into depth the connections of spirits, opening the doors to free communication between Above and Below?

Absolutely beautiful read, that lingers ...
