A Thursday Poem on Tuesday

Yep, you knew it would happen

how much I would miss you
this day,

Not being able to sing
any variation whatsoever
of Happy Birthday to You -
so only my heart hears
the melody.

And I think of your sisters
and brothers, all of them,
and it is as if I can eavesdrop
on their thoughts, this day…

so I hope they realize
they are not alone
in their reveries.

And yet, I smile, knowing
how fortunate you believed
yourself to be when you
learned that you shared this
day with the man who,

without his knowing, brought
us together ultimately
through our love of the poets,
along with the
reading, and writing of
poetry…

and it charmed your Irish nature
that his nickname was
the Wiz.

So Happy Birthday, Louise,
and please, nudge Him a hello
from me…
and then either of you
might send me a feather.

Just because.

I love your Thursday poems...even when they bring tears.  They are beautiful and I know she is loving it.

Thank you, Lori. You know...all of our group knew...and she still continues to provide miracles, no matter how small they might seem to some.

Deeply respectful and heart warming, yet sad.

I want to thank everyone who doesn't mind itting with me on Thursdays, or any day that resembles a Thursday in remembrance. It means a lot to me, and I appreciate those who sit with me.

Thank you.
