Promise

A heavenly mansion built for you and me.
On its doorpost our names inscribed.
Not bought with silver, gold, or grain
But with the blood of Jesus,
when He was gruesomely slain…

Hung on a tree at Calvary
to collect the sins
of the world’s entire history.
He prayed to His Father in Heaven
commending us for absolution.
Knowing His death, on that cross,
was our redemptive solution.

“Forgive Them Father
For They Know Not What They Do”
His heart anguished He cried out,
for me and for you…

All that He ask is that we believe
In He who sent him, to set us free…
He promised you, and He promised me,
a home in Heaven,
with his blood, He prepaid the fee…

>Cal·va·ry also cal·va·ry  --------- n. pl. Cal·va·ries:
1 - A sculptured depiction of the Crucifixion.
2 - Calvary: A great ordeal.
>Cal·va·ry, also Gol·go·tha: A hill outside ancient Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified.

I respect the believers, JL, and respect this poem about your faith.

JL,

Do you recall the abbreviation,

IWIHWT

?

I hope so. Because I'm so very glad you have,
and that I can appreciate it all through you.

A beautiful poem... a life-giving promise.

I've been complaining because I haven't had time to read these last few days... but I'll complain no more because I needed to read this today. Thank you for this!!

JL, indeed, our true home awaits.  The one we could never afford for ourselves, but so graciously paid for in our stead by Jesus.  I tend to get quite sentimental around Christmas time because the gift Christ has given us seems to get lost int he shuffle.  Thank you for the vivid reminder.

Jesus' love is cosmic, all encompassing, and all He asked was to follow His teachings of love. He knew it was not going to be easy and that we would have lost our path at interesections many times, when we would not chose love ... but His grace and mercy are limitless.

Thank you for the uplifting reminder. That is one of my favorite passages, no doubt. "There are many mansions in my Father's home". To believe is to LOVE. And to love is to believe.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Peace.
