Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I don't mean to be petty
when I say I sometimes
feel like a refugee
I have some battered
under my bridges
I carry shrapnel
that only exists
embedded in me
Still just the same
when I wonder
about you and I
and your battle scars too
You have your own shrapnel
I can see that you do
Maybe that's why
I get along with you

Ah yes, it's like that old saying birds of a feather. Hopefully he will understand that and accept your feelings for what they are.

but its echo lasts a great deal longer.--Oliver Wendell Holmes ~*~

Feelings are funny that way, sometimes the last thing they want to do is let you accept them for what they are-feelings, just feeling- no more, no less. Thanks Jerry, it is always good to see you.
