Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Have some cheese
please
to go with this whine
of mine
The whine is rather old
and bold
a vintage of late '57
heaven
But the cork's been out
I pout
and famously complain
again
and again ad nausium
Edam
or Gouda will do just fine
with mine
So why don't you stay
I say
And get an ear full
of tearful
at my pity party
hearty
where I whine on and on
It's gone
the cheese disappears
inside ears
to block out my wearisome din
once again

When I was little, I use to think ayou had to smile for them to take a picture.  In other words, I thought basically a camera wouldn’t work unless you were smiling, otherwise the camera would couldn not take a picture.
I dound later that a camera doesn’t care what it takes a picture of it’s just people want you to smile so it will come out a cute picture.
I also thought you had to say “cheese” or maybe “sex” and maybe the camera would take your picture.
But cheese in ears?
O dear.
How queer.
But have no fear
Bdcause Daddygoose is here
So it is all clear.
He is verry near.
In fact he is right here!
Insidevyour monitor here.
Oh I forgot, I like beer.
:--hugs a la cheese:----)

Not far, just near.

Here's a little something from the archives for you to nibble on in preparation for the party...

Cheese & Other Things

"The poets have been mysteriously silent
on the subject of cheese."
G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936)

It’s been asked,
once and again, “what
inspires you…?”

I smile, a poet’s smile? Aye,
I do…

For until I run in dance across it,
Or trip over the nuance
of a thought,
and listen to the smile
crinkling my eyes…
I won’t know
from whence comes the next
fire of inspire…

So I nibble
on my cheeses, what kinds
it doesn’t matter,
contemplating that a poet
hasn’t written of it…
this smooth, creamy, warming
touch of heaven to my tongue,

some having a bite to them,
which kisses me back
and trails down my throat
but lingers in mind

So the quote made me smile,
to ponder why the subject
of cheese
had not been expounded upon,
at least, not as late as 1936…

perhaps it was because
with the cheese,
came the bread, and wine,
and a poet’s thought,
along with his love,
lingered elsewhere…

Hah 1957. I finished school in that year. As far as your pity-parties, they were never whiny, they were merely words conveying how you missed your guy, and beautiful words at that . . .

~ If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it. ~

Bless your sweet heart Jerry. Maybe I'm just feeling whiney today. Thanks for making me feel better.
