Watering Mouths

It is an unforgettable image
Every shape, all faces, lips agape, eyes closed
with watering mouths.

...waiting, I suppose, for it’s desires to be sated
ready to accept nectar of someone else’s making
Much too reliant, too naive to thrive on its own

How did we get this way?
A destiny, perhaps,
to be either
the feeder
or the fed.

(with apologies to Sunshine for the inspiration from her wonderful: 'Watering Bees')

Well, this certainly fits our present situation. Threadbear. Yes it does.
