To keep the wolves out of his sheep
"Deer" fenced them all around
A mighty fortress as it were
a furry flock impound

Which worked quite well until one day
"Deer" had to go to town
In finding he'd not built a gate
"Deer" scratched his head and frowned

"If I put in a gate I fear
the wolves might work the latch,
and then my sheep are history
I'll lose the whole darn batch"

"I know," he said "I'll build some steps
to go over the top."
"I know that wolves do not climb stairs
that ought to make them stop."

"Deer" built the steps and stopped the wolves
and this part makes me smile
'cause let me be the first to say
he's got a certain "stile"

Yes indeed, Deer, does have stile. But then, so do you, Dr. Moose.

OKRose,
Thanks, I'm just havin' a little fun with my buddy, but I'm glad you stopped in to pick up on the humor.
Doc

Alison,
Thanks, are we havin' fun yet? This is why I'm here, It's the totality of why I write, I love to make people laugh. It took me a while to realize that. You get up in the morning, you get your cup o' joe, you flip the television on or read the paper so
like me you get disgusted, 'cause it's all just bad, bad, bad, and then you come to see Doc Moose for humor, just a tad
bit different from your normal fare
I'm out there as can be
the only reason I can think of why
you folks put up with me.
Doc

LOL... You didn't just give me a smile... you rolled me down memory lane. *S* There were steps over the fence at the fire tower where my uncle worked... they were everything from mountains to a tent for my cousins and me. *S*

You write to make people laugh?? Heck, you do that when you try to write serious!

Nice way to put me on de-fence-ive....I'll have to return the flavor

Ida,
Thank you, to say I've learned a lot from some of the best there are would be an understatement, I think this place tends to inspire all of us.

You mean that after all these years "Deer" is still "paddling the wool?"
