Heart flickers

Damp heavy moisture air carries fresh mud pollens,
Off the inconsistent, vague, fickle minded ground,
They reach my sensitive nostrils, ah! That fragrance,
Its makes my heart flicker so loud, ah! Profound,

Wet leaves broad their invisible swirling war ships,
So immature, yet so ambitious little warriors they are,
Twisting and twirling, riding the untameable winds,
What grace, what passion, to humans they are at par,

Monstrous clouds those wild grey wild horses run amok,
Engulfing every blade of rays, galloping through the sky,
Neighing sounds of thunder, hoofs create silver sparks,
Power house at its vicious force, dare I stare it in the eye,

Fleeting coward moon as eluded my northern sky,
Spring birds give way to chirping monsoon notes,
Sticky street jumper croaks his hours now forever,
Gone are the migrating feather loves on sky boats.

What a delightful poem, Prasad. Your senses gave the reader much to savor and be happy with. This was a nice first reading of poetry this a.m.

I sincerely hope that what I'm about to say does not offend you, Prasad, but every time I read you, I think of Rumi. My friend/poet/mentor Louise and I would read his works often, usually reading aloud, one to the other, then discuss what might have been hiding behind all of his scenes...

and you bring that home to me. I believe I even led Louise to read your writings...

now if you can write about a friend missing a friend and dedicate it to her, that would most certainly be a keeper. She was Bridget Shenachie at PiP.

The entire poem is fantastic, but I particularly like the 3rd verse... your imagery is so powerful I could feel the storm.
