WARRIOR GYPSY
30 June 2011

On his magnificent white stallion,
wide-chested,
with long flowing mane,
tail flying behind,
and thunderous hooves,
the warrior gypsy,
galloping by,
with quiet hands,
and sitting up
as straight as a hammer,
is a picture-book hero
to all who know him.

Around the midday fire,
warm-glow welcoming,
cooking smells
ignite the appetites
and spark song-souls
and stroke gypsy guitars,
and in the moment,
he captures the shy-smiled eye
of a warrior maiden, lithe and lean,
and the gentle smile he offers
in the sun,
melts her.

Scenic and heartfelt is this Gypsy-influenced song of love. Can almost smell the mid-day fires.
