Painting by Haynes King  (1831-1904) "Jealousy and Flirtation"

Light does not cause shadow,
As it travels trough time and space
Continuous--there are no objects
To block the way through the cosmos;
I have felt that kind emitting
From cave den openings-
Pointed Laser spots that burn my chest
When my heated heart beckons my groin
To play cosmopolitan, instead of particular.
.
Clay--fired by God hands-they,
Banned from eden send conch echoes,
Pipe, hum-horned vibration that rhyme
In stanzas of arousal;
Lyrics sung wake wish to touch
--a music path
That yearn makes need of follow.
.
When wild thing voices sing
To my bodies memory.. I begin to suffer,
As another's eyes are watching--green
Though ripe with challenge;

Through fog of non reason-
Her eyes set fire to the scene,
Jousting with the rays of remembrance
That brand my brain with new desire;
Melting it, momentarily into shapes
Of rage, in the eyes of my special one.

note:
This poem was inspired by the painting, as well as a short story by D.H.Lawerence (The white stocking) With my own personal experiences with odd primal feelings added.
