Oh Poet Oh Poet Of The Uni-Verse 2011

Oh, sail ye minds among the power winds of time
To navigate mental currents upon the Uni-Verse of rhyme
Writing the whispers, wrinkling the characters of terse
Meanings with the sword point penetration purpose of verse.

On poet, oh poet encapsulate the world play of histrionics
On stages that reach the height of cerebral records of history,
For umbilical chords of sunrise must sing upon cords sailing sunshine
Where footprints walk among tide creations to imprint the sunset.

Oh poet, oh poet of heartbeats gravitate the power-play of presence
Into the deepest part of a soul of emotion in the motion of the present.
Scrape the nails of the living suicide reason to write in life’s potentials,
Where the prayers meet the knees that scar memory in pain perennials.

For in negativity’s darkness, must arise the Phoenix of the poet’s pyre.
Oh poet, oh poet flame within the enlightenment of positive attire
To rise upon levels of dynamic spectrums in celestial St Elmo’s highlights,
Where the pastels dance among the skylight in moving poetic twilight.

Oh God, oh God bless the wings of flight sailing the human insight,
Where within poetry seeds, they take root to bud alive swaying in sight.
Oh poet, oh poet germinate the eternal blossom of inspiring poetry creation
Upon petals of pages of sensual fabric opening leaves to unfold creativity.

Oh that empty space of hourglass grain that gets ink stained in character
That runs letters together riding the heart of poetry beat, alive in charcoal actors
On a white screen canvas of literature’s imprints sharing imaginative imagery,
Static electricity flowing in veins of writers entrails upon trails of imagination.

Oh poet, oh poet you must become the fountain of youth of poetic revival,
Where youth is relived in age cohesion in the adhesion comprehension of renewal.
Lord, feel that deepest part of depression that must arise to leave an impression,
Where the roller coaster must climb the mountain feeling razor blade expressions.

You are no poet, you have no degree, and have no country club membership.
Oh, look into the mirror of foresight, not hindsight, in riptide survival worship
That one must have faith for anything worthwhile to happen with God’s gifts
Just being tools for the poet to explore failure that migrates into success’s shift.

Human Conservative nature says humanity have no poets, just red roses.
Yet zillion Liberal combinations have left one make love sing - in that perfect rose.
Plain rose with common emotions of communication with only hate and love,
Then add song writer sensual lyrics making words dance within music making love
From the womb of poetry expressive heartbeats,
Until the tomb of the last book of rhyme closing.
Oh God, you are the POET.

Dear David, nice to see you back here with such an exquisite inspiring write.

Wonderful ponderings that culminate powerfully in the last sentence.

Is there a greater poem than Universe itself, indeed?

Love,
Margherita

I daresay, because of the communications breakthrough in the last century there are more poets at this juncture than there ever has been "totaled" in world history. True, much of today's poets are silly poems about love. But wait! But wait! Poets have been writing silly poems about love forever, because, for the most part, love is silly and the poets are just finding it out. Everyone who wears the prestigious hats from reciting their poetry at presidential inaugurations to a thirteen-year-old lad trying to impress the freckled face little girl next door, all are poets in my estimation. Except me. I maintain, to the end, I am not a poet, I just write poems.

~ Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.--Will Rogers ~

Thank You Margherita, blessings. Yes the Uni-Verse within us does make up the greater universe outside us.

Thank You JerryPat2 I guess in my procrastination and self worth doubts, I could say I am not a poet, but then I might have to claim to be something else that does not claim the heart of who I am, someone who writes his Uni-Verse trying to be a poet.

Blessing to you both and those here at the site.

Very nice...most of the time I don't consider the words I write as the words of a poet.  When someone sees me writing in a public place and inquires I tell them I am writing my thoughts...James
