how the ancient of us
saw the stars, and their thoughts.

Yes, Venus is so impressive in the morning or in the evening, so wonderfully luminous ... and yet totally beyond our reach for its inhospitableness.

Her name suggests dreams:
too hot to be visited
Venus charms our dawns
