The clowns' name was Sammy Sunshine,
He was so happy on that day.
Getting ready to plant a kiss,
On the sweet Mirabelle O'Shay.

Mirabelle; solo trapeze act,
Agreed to be kissed by Sammy,
But it would be on her own terms,
Above the crowd in Miami.

Sammy Sunshine practiced the flip,
That would take him to Mirabelle.
The clown learned the trick really fast,
And got to thinking he was swell.

Came the night down in Miami,
Up high they were doing their thing,
He flipped toward her, but she swerved
He will be buried in Beijing

LOL!
There once was a clown from Nantucket...
I liked the limerical feel of this fun piece.

Actually I was going to write a limerick, but it "swerved" into what it is. Thanks Lori.

It can be looked at as tragicomic, but I can't help thinking of the countless aerial acrobats who sadly lost their lives while performing their art (before security measures were obligatory).

I enjoyed this much, you rendered the story very well.

Love,
Margherita

Sammy should have stayed away from Miami..
And Mirabelle, for that matter..
He ended up planiting his kisser in the saw dust
Instead of on the girls lips....:-(
Fun stuff--enjoyed

Thanks Margherita . Yes, acrobats was, and still is, a dangerous way to make a living.

Appreciate the read and comments, Ice.

I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters.
