My diagnosis, if you ask, is an epidemic unseen,
A catastrophe known as wanton social disease.
If you are brave enough to open the wound,
Then we will be cured by the dark of a new moon.

The devil may care but the world won’t,
So swallow this pill and we’ll bleed hope.
My distorted life support is the medicine of youth,
And a bass line surgeon will exorcise the uncouth.

Damned are the lucky and plagued are you,
Because this reverb of blood will flow through.
A powerful punch will show our protest tonight,
To push past peace and shower lovers with delight.

A planet of disease breeds a generation rotten to the core,
With placebo’s of money and politics galore.
The only antidote left to the masses,
Is to revolt against the old and free them with acid.

The devil may care but the world won’t,
So swallow this pill and we’ll bleed hope.
My distorted life support is the medicine of youth,
And a bass line surgeon will exorcise the truth.

Hah! "Free them with acid," eh? Back in the day I used to think that way. Your poem had a lot of different ways a reader could go with it, and I took it as political. "So swallow this pill and we’ll bleed hope." I feel we have just about had all the "hope" we can absorb and still be a viable people, never mind a nation.

Are you suggesting they can't be freed by acid? (Unfortunately it's the only plan I've got)

I might consider a new plan as repeating the 60's may not just be a good thing in this day and age.  I am glad we all have the freedom to make choices so let's hope we all make good ones.  I did enjoy your metaphorically solution to some order in this world though.

Welcome to Passions.
