Fair to middlin' of nowhere

My Lips
don't match!
I've been
to the Dentist
and he lopsided me!
I smiled.
It was funny,
my numb lip drooping
as the other side
curled up at the corner.
I was laughing hysterically
because the hygienist
(that lying little cutie)
said it wasn't really
noticeable....
It just felt that way.
I was so relieved!
I had groceries to buy,
and here
in the mirror
the truth is revealed.
It's as obvious as
my newly acquired lisp.
Not a thing I can do
but grin
and bear it.
Because,
I’ve been
to the Dentist,
my lips
don't match!
He lopsided me!

Reminds me of a piece of comedy Bill cosby did about his trip to the dentist. Dont know if you seen it it was hilarious though.
Not to be gross, but he talks about how after you try and spit, in the bowl, it wont fall, and how he's embarressed and takes his hand and trys to pull it out of his mouth without the dental assistant noticing. You would of had to see the visual of him doing it to get the full effect.
Or maybe your glad you didnt Lol

reminds me of that old joke whose punchline was "now that I've taken Hadicol (age-sensitive product of bygone years) I can spit all over my chin."     ...look at it this way...you got a free sample/preview of botox! ...smiling with at least one side of my mouth... :}

Giggles, Lori - loved your poem.  You DO realise, don't you, how cute and beautiful chipmunks are - but then you are cute, as everybody keeps telling you!

Oh I do love this.  I have never drooled, but I do call my girl friend after I have major dental work because she loves to hear how funny I sound.  It amuses her and helps me stay on track until I get home.  Lori, this is a poem that I really enjoy.
