Ryleigh (granddaughter)

It cost me a leg.
A drumstick in fact.
I thank the chicken
that provided it every day.
She smiled.
The tears magically disappeared,
the light returned to her eyes,
the bo-bo on her knee
all but forgotten.
Nothing quite like the sun
coming through a cloudy sky,
Nothing like the smile
of a child.

It cost me a leg. . .
and I thank that chicken every day.

Oh, James, the entire post had me smiling BIG TIME! Your Ryleigh is a total delight! ~ as is her doting grandfather! You are both so fortunate to have each other.

Here's a for both of you!

I do so agree. Your Rileigh is just pure sunshine. Very lovely, precious post.

Thank you, dear Jimmy.

Haha! Gotta love it. And I do. Nice write about a nice little person.

~ At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war. ~
