The sky has shed its skin,
letting it hang in the air
on a coastline.

The light is sunny side up
on the plateau
of day
as the bacon, sizzles
above the flames
of the range.

Crows, stamping footprints
on the outside of eyes,
as blushing grapes worry
about wrinkles and
crushed hopes.

Raisin their sugar levels
sweetly,
praying
to be martyred
by the sole to the spirit,
into
a cellar of smiles
and tear.

As the wind holds tender
a bird,
in the palm of its breath.

Where are you
this morning?

Where did,
your heart break this fast
of hunger, and slumber.

Has the sun slithered
into your bedroom
sharing its warmth,
as it slips, in
behind you.

Reaching around
kneading you
into the daily bred
of provender
and nourishment
becoming
within,
your staff of life.

Drink of me
full
and brimming
this dayspring,
as I melt
the biting
nip,
of your innermore.

Cover my hearing
tight
with muscled pillows
soft
protruding from you
that I torso,
throughout
the night,
so we can both
succeed
and nurse,
our gardens of
posy
and stem
that swells and
ripens
into the fruit
of your skin
and the
breath,
of your milk.

The shore of your
dune
surging,
to the muffled
sapphire,
of my sky.

This just made me gasp in wonderment.

You soar, dear Richy!

Yes, Richard, you lift us all up with the beauty of your words and we soar to the height our hearts will allow.

Helen - signing off with a sigh.

Lori... now innuendo... that's an Italian suppository yes?

See what you did, you've gotta be careful what words you expose me too... I don't have any control over what happens after that lol.

Thanks Sweetie.

you've outdone yourself...the only difficulty in reading your work is deciding which part I will like best...I agree with Margherita on this:

"As the wind holds tender
a bird,
in the palm of its breath."

...I, too found my breath being taken away by the sheer elegance of these lines...such a pleasure to read

May all our mornings be as glorious! Richard, I find all of your poetry to be captivating, engaging, highly visual, extraordinarily sensual, and very intriguing! I enjoy drowning in the sensations that your words erupt in me.

Giving you an appreciative hug,
Linda
