Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

Humus blowing in the breeze
Growing off of Humus trees
Takes me down to bended knees
As I feed my Humus needs

Humus growing from the ground
Blooming Humus all around
Humus Bees fly to surround
Listen to their sweetest sound

Humus scent now fills the air
Growing wildly with no care
Live among them if you dare
Humus fruit is grown to share

Can you sing the Humus song
If you can just sing along
It’s all right, there is no wrong
Dancing with the Humus throng

Humus blowing in the breeze
Growing off of Humus trees
Humus growing from the ground
Blooming Humus all around

Humus scent now fills the air
Growing wildly with no care
Can you sing the Humus song
If you can, just sing along

If you can, just sing along

So cute you are!

Now the hummus I know is a a paste of chickpeas and tahini, and olive oil etc...

whether or not you were singing about this spread it was still adorable

We all should be so free to sing out thoughts aloud...

Now where's the pita, lets dig in!!

How lovely, dear Alison. Had to do a little research and did find a picture of a humus tree ... ok then I am ready to sing along!

Love and hugs.

You are kidding right?  Now, I am off to go see.  Or you are totally pulling my leg, which is no fair as I am totally gullible.

Love you, darlin' Margherita.

such lovely words Alison, I adore the country and the smell of humus is precious , we need humus for life and I am always marvelled by simplicity and complexity of components of the life...Not beeing too serious, I just love your poem.

Of all of my sensibilities, Alison,
my nose has always been one of my
strong [and long] points.

But this captivated me...especially when
my last poem was about smells, and this
too, is about how the earth revolves with
a scent peculiar to its various and sundry
areas.

LA - where I was born, was all about car
exhaust; later, when we moved north, all
about piney trees and dark soil...

even later, the sea smells coming in on
foggy feet....

and more in between, but now...

spring currents of jasmine and budding trees,
growing grass reaching for its first
haircut of the season....

yes, I enjoyed this, very, very much!
