John,

When I read your poem, I rememberd my parents taking us kids to an Indian grave yard.  Over every grave was a small wooden house.  I was charmed as they looked like little play houses.  Each was colorfully painted and I could see the possessions of the person inside the house.  I remember the children's houses - one in particular.  It had a small china tea set in it, much like the one I had to play with.  It had a doll and other toys ~ and I remember thinking that little girl was much like me.

quote:
Childhood Is A Kingdome Where No One Dies
I don't know that little girl's name, but she remains a part of me.

Thank you.

Love the title and Alison's response. (My mother who was half Creek) used to tell me about the lttle houses over the graves. She said they had to stop the practice because of grave robbers.

I know of one such grave yard that still exists up here in AK, Ida.

Thanks for reading

I actually chose the title after, (which is
from a poem by Edna St Vincent Millay),
to act as well as part of the poem itself.
Somehow for me it was a perfect coupling.

It all started with a painting . . .

Thanks again

John

Yes, childhood ends...

But as adults, we are responsible to maintain that simple world.
