I moved the schedule
of an event today
from
next week coming
to
the week that followed

I called it moving
the time back
but
all those who listened
couldn't
hear the backwardness
and
found only forwardness

I argued for my point of view
only to be reminded
that time is no one's master
least of all
mine

Hah! You sat there and talked yourself out of your original premise. Gotta love it.

I tried holding back the arm of my watch once... it broke, but kept going.

Fate cuts us off a hunk of time, and thats it. All we can do is figure out how to slice it up, before its, suddenly gone.

This was great Steve!

Jerry, glad you caught that.  I did not until I had posted it and thought oh, well.  Thank you for reading.  I appreciated you taking the time to do so.

easy1, thank you for the generous compliment.  Oh, and remember, press NO to delete only this occurrence in a series and YES to delete all occurrences of the event in the series.  You can press them both if you are still undecided.

Richy, great words of wisdom and a grand confession of broken arms & broken dreams in Timex watches that kept on ticking.  Who was the guy that did those old Timex commercials?  Wait, wait, don't tell me...John Cameron Swasey

Kat, clever reply loved it

Alison, you should have been there when everyone looked at me thinking I had lost my mind on the forward & backward issue.  I told someone later that I have no problem explaining the theory of relativity in relation to the string theory (and was going to continue on with reasons why I was right) until they looked at me and said, "Yeah, but you can't read a calendar."

lol, steavenr, thanks for the programming advice.
It merely seems that "forestalling the inevitable" and "pushing back deadlines" are one and the same these days.

Man you're really being forward against such backward ideas.
Love the time expression.
Tell those people they can't move time back....or as you indicate anywhere at all.

Love this kind of twist.

Time can be pretty scary. I like the decisive way you deal with it.

You were just experimenting with non-linear time, dear Steaven, I guess. And for our human brains it is still hard to conceive that everything is happening NOW ...

Absolutely captivating and stirring. Forward backwards or in between it is just exciting.

T -  Time:

I -  Infinity

M -  Manifesting

E -  Eternally

Just having fun Thank you!

Love,
Margherita

easy1, my PDA preaches something like that to me every time I edit an event.  Guess I was just responding with my timekeeper's comments on time itself.

Eric, thank you for your supportive comments, but I fear I must be content with being practically wrong and substantively right.

Ida, decisive?  I must laugh at myself for that.  I folded in my opinion like a cheap suit.

Dark, interesting take and one I've never before considered.  Now would that be the drunk dog drug Doppler (sorry, got carried away) theory of time distention?

Margherita, perhaps it could be that nothing was nor shall ever be and all that is simply is and nothing more   seriously, thank you for the acrostic.  I teach jr. high and high school and my students love acrostics.  May I use yours?

Searched for this fascinating "time" poem again to enjoy it once more.

Of course you may use my acrostic, that would please me .

Margherita

It's what we do with it that counts, beacause there's no taking it back.

Like the days of our youth, once it's gone it's over.  (haha, my quote for the day)

Always enjoy reading your thoughts, steavenr~

Margherita, thank you for the permission.  It is greatly appreciated.

Blues, "Like the days of our youth, once it's gone it's over."  And yes, while the living of it is definitely over, that which is past has only begun its duty of memory where we can refine it, polish it, enhance it, and learn to enjoy it by sharing it with others (as they are far less fortunate for not having lived it.)   Thank you for your generous comments.

Time stops for no one,
it moves on with or without us.
