If I was not able to write before
It is because the scene was terrible,
Four years eased my pain,
To see this abandoned kid
In this market of Guatemala
The remorse is what stays and sleeps
from my photos at that time,

Among all these colored fruits
The hunger brought her down a leash,
Among all these dressed people
She is dressed with bags and rags,
In this market abundantly lit
Her glance is closed for ever,

Among all these people who laugh,
She hears only the anger of rats
Which harmed her innocent face,
The indifference is sewn with the sky,
Sewn with the hell which grasp her,
She is prostrated on her concrete ground,
Only the cement of walls has a little attention,

She surely has no house,
She surely has surement no relatives,
I would like to wake her, to seize her in my arms
But she could not get up,
She prefers to wait for the death,
Already her soul goes away from her
And fly over through the market in colored fruits,

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye,
Let me go away from I, met me rise up to the sky,
Nothing more retains me here,
Nor these people who ignore my pain,
Nor these dreams which abandoned me
In this perfumed flower market
Chichicastenango Guatémala
Where everything smells so good that I prefer to die.

This is so touching and so beautiful - and shows your compassionate nature so well, Yann.  Thank you for caring for that little girl and for telling us about her.

Sad sad story Yann.
However, it displays the beauty of your caring heart.
Some things in life certainly lack justice.

Take Care

Thanks Eric I am gonna to rewrite a comment that I did before about this poem:

thanks for the radiant comment, I owe you so much sharings, I must confess That what I felt at this time I never felt such a feeling ever, I was useless for someone who seek death, a little girl of ten years I guess, A child which such despair that I could feel itt through the air, an awful sensation, a human tragedy I will never forget even I have seen poor people in Africa….I can only pray again for this child….

Yann, I literally got a lump in my throat as I read this vividly description and incredibly sad scenario that is so often over-looked. People just pass these poor children by without really seeing them. There truly is hell on earth. Incredibly compassionate writing.

Love & child Light,
Linda

thanks a lot Linda, it is an honor for me to read your comment and the kind words you offer...I would have like to save this child and during years I gave money to Plan for guatemala childhood...I guess she was outside the system and I don't know if she received some help...to be near this child was a very painful moment I will never forget....

thanks again for the supportive and warm comment
