Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

This place called PiP offers me peace
I call it “Peace in Poetry”
On lazy, Sunday coffee-mornings
I read poetry silently

Familiar names greet me here
And those friends I have not yet met
I read your words and feel your pain
Or share laughter I won’t forget

I don’t consider myself much of a poet
I simply write words that dance in my head
But you reach me with generosity
My confidence grows with the words you’ve said

Breathing is hard when I post a poem
What will you see when it reaches your eyes
Then my breath escapes with a smile
Sincere friendship fills me with each reply

So I will keep on writing and sharing
In this PiP place where I now feel at home
Each of you makes me want to remain here
I am no longer a poet alone

Thank you.
Alison

This is really beautiful.  Thank you for being here.  You help make this place special.

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

I loved reading your heart here, Alison in this beautiful, tiptoe poem.  Yes, I too, find peace that, in W B Yeats' voice, "comes dropping slow" here.  May I suggest that you read the works of Alison, formerly Aziza, in a poetry forum called Pip.  You will find that she is so obviously a born and excellent poet so you will have to change your opinion expressed in the 9th line of your poem - I'm not suggesting that you change the poem - just your opinion.  Smiles.

Your poem is seasoned with the same delightful herbs as one of my all-time favourites, 'Dedication' by Longfellow.

Hey Owl ~

Oh that aziza.  She was smart enough to stay and bring "Alison" to join the fold.  Thank you, sweet friend.

What I see when you post a poem
it's as a friend across the table
so maybe in your wildest dreams
someday we'll meet, when we are able...

Good decision, keep writing and stick around. We'll all be better off with you posting here.
This is very tastefully written I must sincerely express.

Take Care

I hope to see even more comments about this talented 'poet'/photographer (and this particular 'write' specifically) ...
from the grand folks who traverse the fine blue sands of "P.I.P.-land" by the cyber-sea?!

Oh Ali sweet friend, I wish I would have read this earlier please forgive me for my tardiness... Now you listen here my little Eskimo Pie (hey that wasn't bad haha) there are many boards, slats, laths and sheaths that make up this big blue house, but you are one of the support beams that hold it all together... in fact, you're a cantilever beam, why, because as far as we're concerned we, can't, fathom to, leave her, and, you, cant leave, us either, ever.

So there you have it.

To twist and use an old yankee stadium saying, this is, the house that truth built.

The truth of friendship, compassion, love, and sanctuary.

And the peacefulness of poetry from so many wonderful human beings, just like you.

Now you just keep writing those words to help brace this whole frame up... she may be getting a little weatherworn around the edges, but she's solid, just like the warm fellowship, of our solidarity.

Love you girly.

Oh and by the way I'm the chimney of the house because I'm always full of hot air,  but then thats just when I'm trying to be playful and, rich.

(((You)))

Dear Alison - I read this earlier and really thought I had replied - must be an age thing.  I think you capture a lot of what most of us feel about PiP and you have done it so very well.

I have been here for many years now and have enjoyed every moment.  I felt so much and saw so much and wrote so much and now - well, perhaps I'm done. I do know, however, that habits are hard to break.

Thank you for being part of PiP!

Alison, as just a reader I need to tell you your poetry is indeed welcome and all your fun stories and jokes. You are a girl of humour and love, and we all relate to that. Your photos and poetry to match are always welcomed and you as one of the PIP family members can never be replaced. jo

Thinking of my PiP friends tonight.
