A Symphony of a Storm

The lightning and crashing of thunder
And squalls of gale force wind
Leave the sea a peppermint humbug
To an horizon the eye cannot see
Clouds black and tall as a Gothic Hall
Meet the fingers of sea going by
A howling tempest of hurricane wind
Sends twisting plumes of water on high
Clouds flatten and swirl in a pepperment curl
To the end of the symphony's chorus
The brass band sits down and flags unfurl
As a violin plays the last chords
And away in the distance of the passing squall
Is the thunder of the storms applause.

Can you hear my "applause" over the thrunderous roar of that magnificent symphony?!?

This was dynamic and invigorating ~ and helped cool me down from this oppressive heatwave we're having. Thanks! I needed that!

I love storms! ~ this one at sea was electrifying! Loved it!

Yes, I agree. Andrew, the poem is strong and forceful like the tempest that youare writing abaout .  I can always find a metaphor there in your work, but you know that about me! (lol)

Standing applause for this one, my friend

Such powerful visions! Storms are fascinating and frightening in the same time. You expressed this very well!

"A peppermint humbug", well I never did see anyone describe the ocean with such dramatic effects and colour as you do dear Andrew.  Another treat of a tantalizing poem to mesmerize your faithful fans.

LOL, peppermint humbug? though I have some trouble visualizing that,
those peppermint 'curls' caught my eyes  immediately!
An enjoyable read.
