Bones Dad is drunked-up again.
Bones knows Dad will turn vicious soon.
It’s only a matter of time.

Bones thinks he better get out of there
and take a little vacation for the night.
Bones wants Mom to come along,
but she won’t leave her man.

Bones and Mom both stay,
and Bones does what he can
to protect his mother.

It wasn’t enough,
he was only small.

Bobby

Bones reminds me of a kid I grew up with.  He was small and wirey and lost the same battle trying to protect his mother and sisters.  Never stopped him though.

Thanks dear Alison,

The Bones of the world keep working at it, and eventually get it right.

Good on the kid.

Love Bobby

I see this as a tribute to all the little boys (and girls) who stand up bravely to protect their mother against abusive behaviour of their father (or the mother, sometimes it's the reverse case!). This is so traumatic for children, yet it is so much diffused one wouldn't believe.

Thank you, dear Bobby.

Love,
Margherita

I understand this impossible circumstance very well. All we can do when we are small is remember and promise ourselves that we will avoid that situation and then keep the promise. I hope Bones remembered.

Thanks dear Margherita,

What you say is true.  It's common in families, and was part of growing up for Bones.

I'm moved by Bones's bravery. Certainly there is a place in whatever Bones may see as heaven especially for boys like him.

Thanks dear Arana,

It's my understanding that there is quite a crowd in that part of heaven.

Thanks for the kind words on Bones.
