Lonely Poet

Writing poetry by open window
while children are asleep,
I try to write down the reason
when it rains I always weep.

Scratching out on paper,
emotion with a word,
I hope you will understand
and not find me absurd.

For you have felt such pain before
and can recognize the sign,
of a poet having trouble
finishing his next line.

And if you read my poetry
by open window when children sleep,
you will think of me, the poet,
and the lonely tears I weep.

I enjoyed the simple phrasing and emotion in this,
and, yes I know the feeling.

Nice,
Tracey.

Thank you Tracey,

Yeah I am pretty much a Free verse guy, so when i do write with the rhyme and meter it tends to be on the simple side.

This is just so tender, I love it. It shows that poets have busy lives too and try to listen to the muse ... while children sleep. And that's also the time during which they may surrender to emotions.

Beautiful!

Love,
Margherita

Do you really cry when it rains? You know I've heard said that when it rains, its really God crying because he is sad about something. Do you think thats true?

Hey dreamer,
Thank you for reading my poem. Do I really cry when it rains?. Sometimes after I wax my car then it rains..the neighbors can hear me crying me head off all the way down the street. Hmmm not sure if rain is when gods sad...but im pretty sure hes happy when I see a rainbow.
