Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2009-06-24 11:03 PM

They begin to wrap, one at a time,
silky smooth, sometimes velvet,
sometimes passionate red,

Subtle, layers began to form,
if in check, they are laced,
intertwined artwork of beauty,

One day you may find,
if you take a second glance,
there are knots, bindings,

Then you see it, clearly,
what was to bind and tie securely,
to wrap the heart, to protect,

Now becomes a prison,
bound , choked, tightening,
ribbons of red turn black,

Soft velvet words layered,
now become chains, holding,
controlling, smothering,

Now all you have left,
after the romance is gone,
the fire has been stomped out,

what love did we weave?,
knots of frustration,
deception, mistrust,
all that remains,

is untangled ribbons.
