Sleepless Nights

I remember a love so sweet
Once given to me by you
Those memories still come you know
If only I knew what to do

We shared a lot of laughter
Held each other real tight
We were there for each other
When the day turned into night

Now, with no one here to hold me
My nights are spent tossing and turning
Then, morning comes way too soon
I spend all day just yawning

With no one here to hold me
It’s impossible for me to sleep

Oklahoma Rose - close your eyes, and concentrate while I whisper a soft poem to you. It indeed will put you to sleep...

brneyedgrly: Thank you for reading and leaving such a nice comment. I could write a book about broken hearts. Lord knows I've had plenty.

Bill: I would love to be put to sleep, while listening to you whisper your soft poems to me.I am sure they would cause me to have pleasant dreams.

Sleep is over rated. LOL.
A poignant night tune, dear lady.
May memories and dreams comfort you through those restless sleepless nights.
Maybe it's time for a sizzling dream poem?

Midnightsun, I don't get much sleep these days.

Whenever I have experienced nights like that, I hug a pillow and whisper sweet nothings into it. I know, that's pathetic! lol

Seriously speaking, Sweet Sue, I have known that kind of loneliness in the middle of the night. At those times, I conjure up the perfect man and spend a wonderful night dreaming about him! A good imagination is a wonderful thing!

Love 'n a hug,
Linda

Thank you, Linda, for reading and commenting. Hmmmm! You know what? I can do that. And, sometimes I do. Even is it is only in my day dreams. Oh boy, can I day dream. If only those fantasies would come true.

Heck I just bought myself a teddy bear to hug, it's way less complicated.   Sleep is over-rated anyway, get up and enjoy it.

Dear Sue, there was laughter you say, then the loneliness is felt even more I am sure.
You have rendered your feelings intensely here.

A teddybear is less complicated I agree ....

Love,

I think the worst time is when I have a bad dream and my
heart is beating too fast. Felt this, lady Rose.

This is one of your very best.  You write with so much to share and so much behind your words.  You were among the first that I would read regularly when I came to PiP.
