Blackbirds fly
into a patch of blue sky
framed by the purple lace
of the jacaranda trees.
I watch the feathery,
green branches
release there blossoms
in the gentle breeze.
I am sitting on my back porch
observing the forever sky,
dreaming a poet's dreams,
just my cat and I.

Thank you for this snapshot of your December day.
Sounds like you're in a good place, all peaceful and dreamy.

Very beautiful poetry, Ida~

Thank you Maureen and Blues. Actually, I wrote this a couple of years ago while enjoying a peaceful moment.

Dear Ida,

That sound all right.  We're have a rainy night here in Philly for New Year's eve, but that's okay.

I was up to visit my youngest boy and his lovely wife for the Christmas week.  I had a great time.  They live in New York City.  I always did like New York City.

Love Bobby

Beautiful, my friend...could picture myself sitting there (without the cat of course)...
one of those idyllic moments you never want to leave...
