Would you fashion a portrait with brush in hand
You know it so well, the images of me unveil
Where others can see the escape of love from me
Just paint me

With each stroke you take, will a smile be on my face
Will you paint over these tears, or can you erase
Mask me with joy, cover the grief and pain
Would you paint me

Mark my face with lines of age, color my hair with the softness of gray
Will the fears all be covered with your gentle hands of grace
All doubts you can remove from this rugged somber face
You will have to paint me

Will it be a portrait of misery from sleep way overdue
Icy stare from my eyes with droplets of morning dew
Can you paint a dream, and if so make it come true
Then please paint me

Yo Paul,

Look on the bright side buddy.  You're supposed to paint your own face.

This is an interesting write.

I think everyone wants just one person to actually "see" them and preferably someone they love.  This is a beautiful theme.  I truly enjoyed this.

I really liked the sentiments and the rhyming pattern you did here.
'Paints' a great picture.

This is achingly beautiful.  What a lovely request...to be seen for who you truly are, and appreciated as a subject worthy of the artistry at hand.  Yes, I feel this one in my soul.

I like that thought of, Painting A Dream. Especially if it comes true.
