The expression of the iguanas of grey breakdowns,
the expression of the pythons rolled up as the fate,
even that of this yellow varanus to exist
whose eye winks as a lost cloud,

The expression of these immense tortoises
who move the head as an ecstatic coffin,
and this joke of the nature, this tortoise with head of snake
which wonders of the air,

The expression of this alligator which everything annoys,
exposed for the pleasure of the people and the money,
the life looks like a zoo of flat suburb
when we see the nature so deprived of love.

Thank you, Yann.  This poem conveyed a much more visual visit than photos would have done.  A great sense of a very different species.

I hope you did reward each one of these reptiles with a big smile, dear Yann?!

Exhibitions of animals no doubt are a wonderful opportunity of knowledge of the strangest creatures, as of course not all can travel and see them in their natural environment. But it is also sad to imagine how they long to live free as they were meant to.

Excellent poem, dear sensitive Yann.

Love,
Margherita

Hello Margherita, you are so right to balance point of views about exhibitions, we have to consider both elements you talk about...Good to share your comment.

Hello Yann, that is a very interesting post you have written here my friend. I have always found that folk who are interested

in wildlife are nearly always decent, honorable, genuine people and I'm sure you fit into that category. Well done.
