nowhere and everywhere

along calm currents
across silts of delta
in brambles of grace
lies absolute shelter

cadence of chanteys
lulling like crickets
twilight sky widens
lit with benevolence

fair weather forecast
decisions, discerning
chivalrous shoring
an anchor returning

a bottled love letter
in quixotic gesture
‘twixt music and poetry
beauty is captured

I think each time I read your poetry I think that you are growing as a poet and a writer.  You blow me away so often - and you did with this one.

Love the pitch and roll to this, and that love letter
in a bottle makes for a wonderful read!!

The horizon never looked so inviting, and is quite lovely through your eyes!!

Hugs, you~

quote:

It is fantastic in its whole, but still I wanted to quote the above, because it emanates the scent of great poetry so very intensely.

Love,
Margherita

I loved this ending.

And the title is cool as...well, you know.

Dear Brown-eyed Beauty, "beauty is captured" in your quixotic poetry!

~ A little poetic piece of perfection!!!

Simply stated without an excess of superfluous words ~ yet grand in its message and ambiance...

Love you, ss!

P.S. I had to look up "chanteys". I saw that it is another way of spelling "shanties" which is what I am familiar with. Aw, yes, the cadence of sailor songs! "Heave ho! Out we go ~ with the morning tide" (lyrics from one of my own sea shanties! lol)

hey brown eyes...i really like this piece...reminds me of mississippi and new orleans...but that was years ago when i was a young buck in the military.  i'd like to talk to you about collaberating.  you have a vibe i really connect with.  no funny business, but i really like your stuff.  i have a couple pieces that i've never been able to finish and i wonder if you might be able to help.

email me.  my addy is accessible.

I read this because of the word, quixotic, in the title (knowing that anyone who would use that word in their work, had to be something that would surely be worth the reading.  I fell in love with this write with these lines:

"along calm currents
across silts of delta
in brambles of grace
lies absolute shelter"

I love how you intertwined the real with the surreal and made it all work so well.  Very thoughtful and insightful write.

Excellent read.  In particular I was very captivated by
"‘twixt music and poetry
beauty is captured"
Beautifully wrought.
Namaste.

What a cool write!
It's one of those pieces that begs for a second and third reading.
