Arran, Scotland

On dusty summer days how sweet
To leave behind the busy street
And wander where blue islands lie
Like jewels beneath the western sky
Where waters cool caress the shore
And shadow-misted mountains soar
No grime, no noise, a place apart
To ease the mind and lift the heart

And when the tourists all are gone
For local folk still life goes on
And follows through succeeding days
A pattern of time-honoured ways
Of homely tasks, of smiles and tears
Each season with its joys and ills
Watched over by the ancient hills....

Beautiful...I would so love to see Scotland.
My great grandmother (Lydia Burns) was from Scotland.

I love your poetry and I love your heart.

It is a wonderful thing how we all come together from faraway lands.
Thank you for sharing a part of your world.

Yo dear Heart2Heart,

This works well.  I've been to Arran, there in the Firth of Clyde.  It's a lovely place, full of lovely people.

Love Bobby

I haven't been, but it has been a dream of mine, I have Scotish ties.....Your poem increases the desire to visit there even more!

and to the comment you made on my "Reflections" poem....

Well Heart, the "He" in this story is no longer....with me, just in memories, this was about a past love here on PIP....

Have a nice day!
From Heart....

To Heart....
