you said it was in the details
that thing you needed for your soul
to make rose tattoos out of stitches
where that itch had been implanted
and then was later removed

something about the residue you said
that yesteryear slow motion video
that kept you awake at night sometimes
and made you dream of sleeping
with your eyes wide open again

I made you promises out of wooden ends
you said even stones would have healed
as long as my hands did the praying
and you were the prey I worshiped
in the most ungodly ways imaginable

we were daylight and dark different then
like sky and water at some cloudy high noon
only touching at our horizon edges
but never in the middle where love was
since our hearts were only jewelry anyway

earings perhaps on a plastic glass buddha

_____________

daark (residue)

You never fail to impress me with your art and the above stanza is of such ethereal substance and uncommon beauty that it moves me.

Love,
Margherita

Really something.
I don't know if it does this for anyone else, but your pieces have this quality to me like movies shot with grey filters and they color-tone the hell out of a particular item, like someone's eyes, or in this case (like in one of your other ones) some red jewelry.
Very stirring.

You weave such a spell with words... and I don't want to hear the fingers snap. *S*

This is incredible and makes me wish that I was what you worshipped!  As usual your ability to weave words is incredible!!!!!!
