A young man sits at the bar He chats amicably with the owner I see him casually look my way Eager perhaps to change the mood His smile is engaging and warm He says a softly spoken ‘Bonjour’ I nod and smile in return His look is stylish but understated His eyes are the blackest brown There is no malice in his face He returns to his conversation And I sit and enjoy the view He has offered...
