Packs on backs, they dash through halls,
white walls and hope.
Energy, bare heads and laughter .
.
Purpose!
.
Today she will fly,
and paint pictures from God.
Doodles on the wall, images on the ceiling,
newborn constellations
that have grown through the dark night. And when
the sun creeps from behind Watermelon Mountain,
.
a butterfly,
folding its wings
.
'pon the globe that gazes sweet reflections
through the garden of her life.
It prays a world -whole,
when beloveds push through the door,
Candy, kisses and packs on their backs; new slippers,
a poem from the elves left on her pillow
at home.
.
For tonight they will count dreams together, one on the bed,
one on the floor.
Whispering fairy stories...
.
Waiting
~~

Enjoyed your "Doodles" and your comments at the end! Congrats on the publication of this poem in that anthology! It's for a great cause and you are in mighty fine company!

It's wonderful that your granddaughter is in remission! I will pray that she remains so!

A very moving post and commentary!

Love to you ~ and to Erin Elizabeth!

Oh, how deeply deeply beautiful and poignant, dear Janet.

This was written by your heart, the emotional involvement is profoundly felt. Combined with your art it becomes a masterpiece.

All my best wishes to your little granddaughter, may the remission be complete.

Love,
Margherita

Thanks guys:

Yes, I am thrilled to be included in an anthology along side of these poets and to date, may be my finest moment in writing!
