Between the Lines

0 posted 2009-06-16 08:08 AM

She once fought for those words,
for their feel, the touch
that welcomed each morn.

She scaled each line to rise to the top,
to clear the clouded thoughts
to attend her needs.

She envied the real through starving eyes,
embracing the memories
in a distant mind.

She's trapped now, between the lines,
navigating the impossible,
just a day tripper...

searching for more.

We always search for more ... "a day tripper" can mean that we live in the Now, which is a good idea, as it allows us to not worry too much about the past or the future.

Dear Maureen, I enjoyed your poetic reflections.

Love,
Margherita

Days build into weak periods of endless time ...

its the depth between the lines that will fill a single day in a lifetime!

My favorite verse.
Nice series you've put together here with, He, She and They.

there are far too many of us , I believe,
for which these lines ring all-too-true:

"...now, between the lines,
navigating the impossible,
just a day tripper...

searching for more."

v. well 'penned' !!

Margherita, thank you always for your interesting comments. I live in the "now"  since aging tends to do that to you

Craig, I love your thoughts "its the depth between the lines that will fill a single day in a lifetime!"

Oklahoma Rose, guess we are living a parallel life

BluesSerenade, Thank you for noticing this small "series" of feelings, Lori.

Bruce,"...now, between the lines,
navigating the impossible,
just a day tripper...

searching for more."

Yes, I never realized how empty a life could feel, even  when times seem to be a bit better.
