After ten years here I've left my mark,
I've published my books and I've cast the dark.
Lately it's just not in me to write,
lost my direction when I gained my sight.

And after ten years of friends to be had,
not being here much makes me sad.
I just seem to be caught up in the days-
I'm hoping summer is only a phase.

Right now it's warm and time is full
of things in my garden I'm having to pull

and sunflowers that call me out to play

a creek that says "come here in me lay"

and my lil handful who's my best friend,
the energy in him will never end

I'm grateful for these ten years, and maybe ten more-
but summer's got me forgetting the door.

Thanks for ten years of many roads crossed,
but right now I'm enjoying me lost,
but know I'll be back come the frost.

Upon the frost comes the wilting of the spring of revival.

Your words carry heartbeats that write the emotional currents of a poet blessed.

Dixie, congratulations on your ten years, your books, and your green thumb! That is one heckuvvalotta garden!!!

I love this 'Nature'al side of you! ~ and I'm a tad envious of your wide-open spaces!

Stand proud, bold, and beautiful like that magnificent sunflower!

Giving you a big hug and a broad smile,

Linda

oh I like this...we seem to be in the same 'non writing' mode...though I like your passtimes better than mine...my days are filled with computers and code and they aren't kind to any thoughts of being creative...

Dixie. My dear lady we'll let you take a short break from PIP but don't forget those that love and care for you.
You might be able to take the girl from PIP
but will never take PIP out of the girl...Paul

Dixie...I'm with Paul.  Sure good to see you here today, even though warm and not storm.  I'm so glad you are being good to yourself.
